Art Thorman
My philosophy is simple. I look for subjects that will inspire me. When I come across one, I work intently to capture its essence. Small farms with their barns, cornfields, and quaint houses give the country side a welcoming feeling. Capturing a feeling such as this in a painting and passing it on to the viewer is the type of challenge I am always looking for.

In his former life, Art Thorman was a middle school Social Studies teacher. Upon his retirement, he became affiliated with the Arts Center of the Capital District in Troy, N.Y. and began fulfilling a lifelong dream of becoming an oil painter. Since then, he has exhibited his work in many shows and galleries in the capital district and beyond.
