My work is rooted in a decade-long dedication to the traditional watercolor medium. I draw technical inspiration from master watercolorists like Winslow Homer, while continuously chasing the Impressionists' fascination with how light impacts a scene. The enduring beauty of the local Adirondacks serves as one of my primary subjects. However, I am often compelled to push past classical

style boundaries, stripping away the non-essential to translate grand vistas into modern, minimalist landscapes. For me, the brush stroke becomes a kind of caligraphy used to interpret the light or mood of the subject, in a way that only watercolor can.
