Since the gourd is of the earth, it fits into the agricultural landscape naturally. Each one is unique, differing in size, shape and form. As an artist, sometimes I am able to bring a gourd design idea to fruition; other times the gourd decides, and takes me in another direction.
I am a self-taught gourd artist, and have been working with this medium for a few years. Constantly honing skills and experimenting with new paints, ink dyes, pyrography, and carving continues to keep the art interesting and challenging, always encouraging growth.
