Mary Beth Vought

I received a BA in Studio Art from the State University of New York at Albany and subsequently worked for many years as a graphic designer, illustrator, and gallery director. I've preferred to do artwork outdoors since high school when I was released from class to the wilds of Cohoes, NY to paint a streetscape in watercolor. My teacher had studied in Rome and understood the importance of drawing from life. Subsequently, I’ve had the privilege to paint outdoors in the company of fellow plein-air artists. Many of the views in my work were created on excursions with these dedicated and generous individuals. I hope you enjoy the paintings.
