Michael Dudley

My passion is painting the beautiful spaces in my community. I primarily paint small works on copper, but also dabble in larger works on canvas. The light copper gives the paint is extraordinary just like the natural beauty of our region.

After a fulfilling career as a ship welder, Michael Dudley pursued his lifelong interest in art, by returning to school and graduating from Skidmore with a degree in fine art in 2000. Then he continued his education at SUNY Albany with a MA in 2002. In 2004 Michael opened Riverfront Studios in Schuylerville NY, where he saw a need to bring original art to the area and wanted to support local artists. After 8 years of many wonderful exhibitions of 100’s of beautiful pieces of art from talented artists, Riverfront Gallery closed in 2012. Today, Michaels Blue Door Fine Art Gallery continues that tradition. Michael's passion is to support local artists, provide original and affordable art, and to continue to build a community of local artists. He has participated in Landscapes for Landscapes for 4 years and considers it the highlight of the fall arts scene.
