Terry Teitelbaum
My paintings reflect the natural world and its constant changes. The shift in seasons, movement, light and weather of the area I live in provide an abundant source of inspiration which are the pulse of my art. Spontaneity and unpredictability of color and texture are the hallmarks that push my work into abstraction.
My fascination with the colors and textures of the rolling hills of Washington County never gets old.
My paintings reflect the beauty of the natural world and its constant changes. After receiving degrees in Fashion Design from FIT and Pratt Institute in New York, I developed a love of vibrant color and intricate texture in designing.
A move to Cambridge, NY allowed me the opportunity to supervise the design and construction of costumes at Bennington College’s Theater Department and to build a studio to continue exploring design through custom work. After decades of working with thousands of yards of fabric in a variety of colors and textures, I was ready to expand my creativity. Feeling an intense desire to use pigment to express my inner thoughts, I took a new direction: PAINTING.

I have exhibited regionally at Southern Vermont Art Center, Laffer Gallery, Saratoga Art Center, LARAC, North Country Arts,, and ASA in both group and solo shows. 2023 brought solo shows at Saratoga Arts Center,, and Ti Arts Gallery . Recently, I was juried into the Adirondack Pastel Society National Show and the 90th Annual Cooperstown National Exhibition. In 2024 I was honored to be the "Featured Artist" for the 23rd annual ASA Landscape Show. This year I have an exhibition at Spring Street Gallery, Saratoga Springs, NY.
