Washington County, being the landscape in which I grew up, is, for me, a rich place to explore ideas of how we shape the landscape and how it, in turn, shapes us. In an amalgam of memories, natural phenomena, and folklore, I aim to keep my work rooted with a sense of place.

Our relation to the landscape is a central theme in my work. I'm interested in the colors and shapes that surround us and how we fit into those patterns. I believe we have a reciprocal relationship with our landscapes, we shape them and they, in turn, shape us, both physically and aesthetically. My paintings show the shape of the thought you have while moving through a landscape.
